African-American skin issues

All skin types need to be looked after, however African-American skin is highly sensitive and needs extra care. African American skin has a tendency to lose its elasticity very easily consequently resulting in loose skin, stretch marks and fat globs around the waist, thighs, stomach, breasts and face and neck area. Skin conditions can present in every skin type but darker skin is more susceptible.

Preventative care needs to be a priority for African- American skin care since treatment of sensitive skin is complicated by the possibility of further trauma.   Our Problem Skin Cream is highly recommended for these issues.  Common problems include:

Many African-Americans report a darkened discoloration around the edge of the foot which is not complementary.  After applications of our Problem Skin Cream for a couple of weeks, this discoloration fades drastically.

Hyperpigmentation
This is where patches of the skin become darker in color this is usually after a cut, graze or burn. Extra care has to be taken in the treating of acne or eczema because of hyperpigmentation. Chemical peels, microdermabrasion or bleaching treatments may be of some help for this.

Pityriasis alba

This mostly occurs in children and it causes round light patches of scaly skin on the face and upper arms.

Ingrown hairs / razor bumps

These are stereotypically common after shaving. Dermatologists may recommend different shaving methods to avoid them, but permanent laser hair removal is very popular.  Our skin cream and hair products will help you naturally without invasive techniques that cause harmful side effects.

Keloids

This is overgrown scar tissue often formed after piercing or surgery. Cortisone injections, laser treatments and other methods remove them, but they do tend to grow back.  Keep them at a minimum with our creams.

Foot Discoloration

A final problem is a buildup of tissue and discoloration on the outside ridge of both feet.  Our Problem Skin Cream has restored the skin to its original softness and normal color.   Although the skin of people of African heritage is susceptible to problems it is also very beautiful and glowing when looked after. Daily use of sunscreen and our creams will help against irregular pigmentation.

The Feet

Let’s talk feet:!  People use our Problem Skin Cream on their feet with great effect.  Our creams are a blessing to people with diabetes as their skin becomes dry and they help lessen the immediate effects of neuropathy.

Diabetics cannot feel a thing when they cut their toes or any part of their foot.  Diabetics also suffer from infections which can be critical when it follows a cut on the feet.  They can have a raging infection without being aware of it.

Our creams soften their feet within days while protecting them from infection because honey is so good at protecting wounds from infection.  One of our diabetic customers, Charles, in his late fifties, used the cream for one week, and then had an appointment with his podiatrist who could not believe the change that had taken place in the condition of his feet.
