Scientists say:

The natural hydrating and antioxidant properties of honey trap and seal the moisture, rejuvenate the skin, cleanse the complexion leaving it soft and supple.  Thus reversing much of the accumulated damage found in skin.

Honey in its purest form is suitable for all skin types', even sensitive skin. Beauticians suggest using honey abundantly for radiant complexion. Skin care products like baths, shower gels, face creams, skin lotions, moisturizers, body scrubs and even newborns products contain pure honey because of its known benefits.

Honey is safe and effective to use on hard-to-heal wounds, according to two recent reports (the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine,2005;11:511–3 and the Journal of Family Practice, 2005;64:533–5) gives examples of the use of honey for wounds on children and diabetics.

Dr. Peter Molan of the Waikato University in New Zealand has proven the power of honey for healing through his world renowned research on honey.

Scientific research on honey has shows it contains small amounts of a number of vitamins, minerals, and basic sugars which produces a substance that is predigested.  That means it immediately goes into your system.  Honey is also Antifungal.

About Honey

Many factors in our environment such as pollution, dirt, and other chemical agents in the air make the skin lose its ability to retain water.  This makes it look dry, splotchy and wrinkled; aging the person’s skin much earlier than warranted.

What is Propolis?
During the last part of their lives, worker bees gather tree saps and mix them with bee secretions. The purpose of the propolis (saps/resin) in the plants is to protect the new sprouts from diseases and to repel insects such as ants.    Bees use it to coat many surfaces in the hive and protect it from viruses, fungus and bacteria. For this reason, propolis has been found to have beneficial properties for humans.  It is even being used successfully in some cancer treatments.

Honey in History

If honey did only the above, it would still be a great product.  However, the research on the uses of honey shows it is a skin rejuvenator.  In fact, many of the royal women in ancient cultures used honey because it moisturized and rejuvenated the skin, changed their complexion and enhanced their beauty by making their skin look and feel younger

Honey has been used as a beauty treatment in facials and baths dating back to Cleopatra. Honey is once again making its presence known as preferred ingredient in natural skin care products with its importance of many other beneficial factors.
